Daisy Shu

Dr. Daisy Shu is a Scientia Senior Lecturer at the UNSW School of Optometry and Vision Science, with a research focus on the roles of mitochondria and metabolism in age-related macular degeneration. A UNSW optometry graduate, she earned her PhD from the University of Sydney and completed her postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. She is a leader in the eye research field, serving as the Vice President of the International Society for Eye Research (ISER). Dr. Shu is also a passionate science communicator, active on social media (@EyeDaisyShu), and co-hosts the “Behind our Science” podcast, sharing the latest research discoveries to the public.
